Due to continued, necessary snow removal to ensure roads are safe for bus transportation, as well as ongoing clean-up efforts at our school buildings, Berkley Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. There will be no Surround Care and no after-school activities. Please refer to the Superintendent’s email for additional details. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work to safely reopen our schools.

Berkley Public Schools is proud to celebrate School Resource Appreciation Day by extending a heartfelt thank you to Detective Sergeant Engstrom and Officer Raudonaitis for their dedicated service to our students and staff.

School Resource Officers complete specialized training in juvenile law and in strategies to best support the needs of children and families. Their work goes far beyond safety; they build relationships, provide guidance, and serve as trusted adults within our school community.

While many districts are fortunate to have a full-time, dedicated School Resource Officer assigned solely to their schools, Berkley’s SROs balance their school responsibilities with full patrol duties across town. They respond to our schools' needs while managing the many demands of serving the broader community.

We are deeply grateful for their partnership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to keeping our schools safe and supportive places for all.

As we head into February break, dreaming of warmer weather, we let it snow in the BCS lobby. It is filled with snowflake poetry. Grade 3 students wrote Cinquain poems, and grade 4 students wrote Diamanté poems. Everyone did such a wonderful job! So creative! #bcsgreatplacetobe

Ms. Carter's Art Around the World extracurricular club began in week 1 in the United States to celebrate Black History Month. Students explored the paintings of Alma Thomas and created free-form paper quilt blocks based on the work of the Gee’s Bend Quilters. #bcsgreatplacetobe

Thank you to the Somerset Berkley Education Foundation for bringing Author Daryl Cobb to Berkley Community School and providing all students with his book.
