Miss St. Laurent

I am excited to begin my 12th year of teaching here at BMS. I taught
fifth grade for three years. I was also a Special Education teacher in
grade 8 for one year before moving to grade 6. This is my sixth year as the
grade 6 Special Education teacher. I grew up in Berkley my whole life; I am
very fortunate and blessed to be able to give back to the community that
provided me with my childhood education. My pride and joy outside of the classroom is my fiance and my new rottweiler puppy Luke - my love! My fiance is sweet too...lol. We enjoy camping and snowmobiling
together. He has a plan on teaching me how to ski this winter...that should
be interesting...lol. I love playing and coaching softball! I also love
cheering on students at their basketball games! I am a huge sports fan as I
cheer on all of the Boston teams, especially the Patriots and the Bruins!

My Mission Statement:
My ongoing mission is to make learning fun for the students and to maintain
an open line of communication with parents. A new mission I have for myself is to help students to gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. It is important for all students to feel success within themselves and within the classroom. This will be done by looking at the growth they made from the beginning of the unit to the end of the unit of study. Together, we can also set short term and long term goals that are meaningful to them. We will work together to work on achieving those short term and long term goals. I want the students to feel success
within themselves and within their educational experiences while in sixth
grade. If more time is needed to obtain their goal, together we will reflect
upon our practices, adjust, and try again. We will NEVER give up on goals.
I will NEVER give up on you. Everyday is filled with new opportunities to
learn from our own and other's mistakes.
