About Mrs. Furrh...

I graduated from Westfield State College where I received a Bachelor's
Degree in Elementary Education grades 1-6 with a concentration in
mathematics. I am licensed in moderate special education grades
prek-8 and mathematics grades 1-6. I have also completed the SEI Teacher
Certirfication requirement. I have been teaching in the Berkley School System since 2004. I have had the pleasure of teaching 5th and 6th grade math in a learning lab setting to special education students, co-teaching 5th and 6th grade math and 6th grade English Language Arts students in inclusion settings and grade 6 math and social studies in the general education setting. Besides teaching, I am also a mom. My oldest son is 18 and his name is Owen. His hobbies include playing guitar, riding his quad, fixing cars, and learning about the makes and models of various cars. My youngest son is Brody. He is 9 years old. Brody loves sports and plays soccer, basketball, football and baseball. I also have a chocolate lab, Brandy, and a yellow lab, Lola. My hobbies include decorating cakes, listening to country music (mostly Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney), reading, riding my atv, and camping.

My Mission:

The most important goal is to ensure that students are learning and reaching
their full potential. It is important to me that all students' needs are
being met.

Another goal of mine is to have students make real life connections to the
content being taught so that learning becomes more meaningful.
