BPS COVID-19 Information

    Dear Berkley Public Schools,

I hope that you had a great holiday and enjoyed the break. As we return to school for the 2022 school year, we thank you for your support and help in keeping our school community healthy and safe. Berkley Public Schools was able to maintain relatively low COVID-19 positivity rates to start the school year. We have experienced a significant increase in positive cases just before the December break and continuing through the vacation week. On December 28, 2021, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention shortened the recommended isolation and quarantine period from 10 days to 5 days, followed by 5 days of strict mask-wearing when around others. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has updated its quarantine and isolation guidelines in response to this change. DESE is updating its protocols and will make them available later this week. For a complete update on the COVID protocols please read the news story posted on our website

I wish you and your family a very happy, healthy, and safe New Year.

    Sincerely,

    Melissa Ryan

    Superintendent of Berkley Public Schools
