    DISTRICT MISSION STATEMENT

    The MISSION of the Berkley Public Schools is to provide each student with the values, knowledge and skills needed to reach his or her full potential, maximize achievement and show responsibility in interacting with others in our diverse society. Berkley students will learn that accountability earns respect and that respect leads to dignity. We will create a learning environment in which each child is provided with many opportunities to become lifelong learners, to solve problems, and encouraged to think creatively.  Berkley Public Schools are committed to partnering with parents and families through open communication and cooperation between all members of the learning community:  students, parents/families, and staff/administration.

    District Improvement Goals

    By utilizing the current appropriated budget, Berkley Public Schools will maintain current average class sizes, preserve and possibly restore educational programs, and increase integration of technology in the classroom setting in the 2019-2020 school year.

    The Superintendent will work with the Facility Subcommittee and the Mass School Building Authority (MSBA) to coordinate the Community School building improvements, during the 2019/20 school year.

    Professional Practice Goals

    The Superintendent will work closely with the Administrative Team and the Berkley Police and Fire Departments to provide for the safety of our students and staff during the 2019-2020 school year.

    Student Learning Goal

    During the 2019-2020 school year, the Superintendent will form and oversee the Mathematics Curriculum Review Committee, resulting in piloting and purchasing  (if funds are available), new Mathematics programs for Berkley Public Schools.

    In grades K-5, the newly acquired My View ELA curriculum materials will be utilized to address ELA standards in differentiated small group learning experiences during the 2019-2020 school year.
