 About Me:

I love my job! I have taught both second and third grade over the past twelve years and began teaching 4th grade in the fall of 2016. I strongly believe in integrating technology, literature, art and music with curriculum. I value using the Promethean Board to motivate and teach my students. Thanks to PTO fundraising, this excellent tool changed the way I teach and students learn!  I am originally from California. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelors in English. I earned my teaching certificate and Masters in Instructional Technology from Bridgewater State College. I enjoy kayaking, gardening, music and reading when I'm not teaching.

About our Class Mission:

Both my students and I will work to our highest potential. That means we will always do our best work. We will reflect daily on our performance, and recognize mistakes are an opportunity to learn.  I have a tremendous respect for Bill Belichick. What makes the Patriots a great team is also what makes our classroom and students all they can be: He spoke recently on this topic:

"I think it starts there -- a love of the game, the passion for the game, a passion to be part of a team, be part of a group, be part of a commitment to perform at a high level, and be unselfish and to give up some of your own personal goals and desires for the good of the team for the opportunity to be part of something special in a team environment. I think those are the things that help us." (2016 Salesforce World Tour event in Boston, April, 2016).

I have a passion for teaching and hope to instill in my students a passion for learning and to try their best - not just for the good of the team, but for themselves.  Our classroom will look like a team. We'll be kind, respect one another, and celebrate our differences. We'll work to become creative thinkers. Equally important, we'll have fun!
