The first thing I want everyone to know is ... I LOVE TEACHING!!!
When I was a little girl, I used to play school in my bedroom at least once a week and LOVED it. I can't say that there was one person or moment that led me to ultimately become a teacher, I seem to have always know I'd be a teacher. Along the way however, I can credit may incredibly influential teachers, colleagues, and families who have added to my desire to continue in this profession. I truly love my work and can't imagine myself doing anything else, anywhere else!
I have worked at Berkley Community School since 2008 and all of those years have been with third and fourth graders. I spent a year filling in as a fourth grade special education teacher, then the next three years gave me the wonderful opportunity to work in the Reading Clinic with third and fourth grade, this will be my fifth year in the 4th grade classroom and I am extremely grateful to all my work at BCS that has brought me here. I studied Elementary and Special Education at Rhode Island College and graduated in 2007 with my Bachelors Degree in both Elementary and Special Education. I just recently completed my Masters Degree in Education thanks to distance learning with Anderson University of South Carolina. It was a great experience and I learned so much. I remain licensed in both Elementary and Special Education.
At home, I live with my husband (you can find him in the Music room at BMS!), my son Daniel, and my dog Rusty. We used to live in Rhode Island but just moved to Lakeville in July 2016. We are so excited to be living closer to Berkley, we truly LOVE working with and for this town! I love reading, writing, cooking, and decorating. My favorite foods are anything BBQ or anything served with mashed potatoes :) My favorite subjects are Reading and Writing (Math and Science are great too!).
